• Spokane Family Farm is selling their dairy and marketing rights. The dairy is located 13 miles West of Spokane, Washington. Spokane is the second largest city in Washington State located in the heart of the Inland Northwest and serves as a business hub for numerous regional companies in Eastern Washington, Northern Idaho, and Western Montana. Spokane has an agricultural atmosphere with a population of 418,000 residents in the immediate metropolitan area. The large population base provides a growing market for naturally grown agricultural products. Since purchasing the dairy the Vieira’s have developed their own naturally grown milk marketing program under their own label, Spokane Family Farm. Spokane Family Farm produces naturally grown milk with no hormones delivered fresh and delicious to the customer in less than 72 hours. Spokane Family Farm has its own web site to promote their milk and good will in the community.
Currently the Vieira’s milk approximately 40 cows and pasteurize and bottle their milk every day. The facility and processing equipment has capacity for approximately 60 milking cows. All milk is delivered to Spokane Produce, who is a local wholesale distributor a few miles away. They are paid weekly. The wholesale distributor currently has over 80 retail customers in five states. The demand for Spokane Family Farm naturally grown milk continues to grow with interest from additional retail customers and specialty cheese makers looking to locate in Spokane.
In addition to producing naturally grown milk that is fresh and delicious, Spokane’s Family Farm also offers daily tours which generate additional income and a community atmosphere.
• Spokane’s Family Farm dairy and bottling is a Federally licensed Interstate Milk Shipper (IMS) which allows them to ship processed milk interstate.
• Sale includes approximately 159.90 deeded acres. The property is zoned Agricultural which allows all types of production agriculture. The dairy facility is situated on approximately 5 acres leaving approximately 155 acres for dry land cropland and pasture for the agronomic disposal of dairy nutrients.
• This area has annual precipitation of 15 to 18 inches with 100 to 130 frost free days. The property is currently dry land cropland and pasture with an undulating terrain.
